Grief and Loss Counselling
Grief is a normal response to a significant loss. But sometimes it can overwhelm us, or be persistent. When we grieve, we can sometimes blame ourselves, experience feelings of guilt, neglect our own needs or struggle with daily functioning. Our brains can struggle to process the pain and loss, leading us to having seemingly intolerable emotions. Such loss and grief is not just limited to the death of a loved one. We may also grieve:
- the death of a pet
- seperation or divorce
- the loss of a job
- the breakdown of friendship
- when a loved one goes missing
- the loss of home, culture or possessions
Support is available.

Trauma Counselling
Stressful events and trauma can overwhelm our ability to cope and may lead to a number of emotional, psychological or physical symptoms.Traumatic experiences can disrupt brain functioning, including memory, emotional regulation, and decision making. This can lead to panic, flashbacks, persistent anxity, intrusive thoughts and feelings of hopelessness or powerlessness. A traumatic event may include (but is not limited to)
- Witnessing an assault or act of violence
- Natural disasters
- Car accidents
- Surviving Domestic Violence
- Child Abuse
Support is available.
Keesha utilises a number of different therapies including Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Strengths Based Therapy. Therapy, including elements such as mindfulness and body work, is individually tailored to each person.
